Unfortunately (or fortunately?) it rains in Follonica in summer too, though rarely. So what could you do in town when the day at the beach is skipped because of bad weather? We give you some suggestions below:

-Visit to the Magma Museum

Surely the best thing to do is to take advantage of the bad weather to take refuge inside Follonica's only museum, the Magma Museum located inside the Ex-Ilva Area. The Magma is open during the following hours:

Sunday 09:30-12:30, 18:00-23:00

Monday Closed

Tuesday 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Wednesday 09:30-12:30, 18-23

Thursday 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Friday 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Saturday 6:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.

-Keep up to date on events!

Although infrequently, some indoor events are organized. To check out upcoming events you can visit the news section of our website. For info contact us at 0566 52012!

The Picci train that runs around the city usually in the late afternoon and evening, in case of bad weather makes overtime schedules from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Only for the Levante, Ponente line, and the Village train)

-Trip outside Follonica

Around Follonica there are many other towns and museums to visit, there is more to Maremma than just the sea! Contact us at 0566 52012, or drop by our office directly to have us recommend some out-of-town trips to the other municipalities in the Maremma North Area
