MAGMA - Museum of Cast Iron Arts in the Maremma, one of the main museums in the Tuscan Maremma, is located in the heart of Follonica and was opened in 1970 in a temporary location.
Since 1998, the museum has been permanently housed in the old San Ferdinando Furnace, the oldest building in the city.
Inside MAGMA through a virtual journey through time and space, it is possible to trace the process of cast iron production, both locally and internationally.
Also on display in the Etruscan section are some of the artifacts found during the excavation of theEtruscan iron and steel settlement at Rondelli.
